Australian Injury Prevention Bulletin

The Australian Injury Prevention Bulletin is a periodical publication of the National Injury Surveillance Unit. At present we are publishing three issues per year, with each issue concentrating on a particular aspect of injury in Australia. The Bulletin is aimed at a wide audience including those working in the fields of injury research, injury prevention, health promotion, public health and medicine, as well as community health workers and others with an interest in the area.The Australian Injury Prevention Bulletin is a periodical publication of the National Injury Surveillance Unit. Injury Issues Monitor

A periodical publication, the Injury Issues Monitor provides a clearinghouse for information about developments in injury surveillance and prevention. It currently has a circulation of around 2000 individuals representing a diverse range of organisations and sectors with an interest in injury issues. The Monitor is published approximately three times annually.

NISU Publications, Reports - General

NISU publishes injury surveillance development reports. Typically, these review the state of information about an injury topic, assess the demand for improvements and the feasibility of achieving them, and propose means for implementation. We also publish occasional reports on other topics.

Australian Directory of Injury Personnel

This Directory has been compiled to serve as a tool for networking between those individuals and organisations working or interested in the field of injury control.

NISU Publications, Reports - Road Injury Information Program series

The Road Injury Information Program (RIIP) was an initiative funded under the Prime Ministers 1989 Road Safety Plan to improve information on road injury. Reports based on investigations conducted u nder the program have been published in the RIIP Report Series.

Short Reports

As part of its work, NISU responds to many enquiries for information about specific injury issues or hazards. Some of these responses culminate in the production of substantial reports. The Unit h as begun identifying some of these reports to form a series intended for wider distribution.

A description of injury hospitalisation patterns amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across all States and Territories (except the Northern Territory)

Study of Injury in Five Cape York Communities April 1997

This report covers the documentation of injury in some small remote indigenous communities on Cape York. It shows how a range of information gathering techniques can provide a profile of injury that complements existing data sets, identifies areas where under-counting is likely in those collections, and provides a rich basis for the planning of injury prevention strategies at the local and regional level.
