Fractures are the commonest type of injury that results in admission to
a hospital in Australia. This report describes injury cases hospitalised
in Australia during the financial year 2001-02 that involved fractures.
The report provides an overview of hospitalised fractures in terms of
case numbers and rates, demographic characteristics of patients, circumstances
of occurrence and types of case.
This report will be useful for injury prevention and control
initiatives, as well as forming a basis for more specific
investigations.
The report is available as a PDF document (~ 520 Kb).
